|  4DAY SAFARI ITINERARY TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK | | Tour Code | T.A.T.S 002 | | Tour Frequency | Daily departures with minimum of 2 pax | | Day 1: Travel to Fort portal | | After your breakfast, your guide will meet you and drive westwards to Kibale forest National Park. You will pass through rolling hilly country passing through field of bananas, plantations forest of Eucalyptus and pines, tea estates, reaching fort Portal in Early afternoon. After checking in, have lunch and proceed to Ndali for guided Nature walk. You will enjoy the scenic beautiful crater lakes, water falls and community culture: vanilla talk, African local gin distilling and cultural dances by the Engabu za Toro if on Sundays. Dinner and over night at Mid range Ruwenzori view Hotel, Luxurious Ndali Lodge / Budget Nyinabulitwa country Resort. | | Day 2: Semuliki National Park | | After early breakfast, your guide will drive you past the beautiful valleys and ridges of Ruwenzori Mountains to the Semuliki. The 220km National Park lies in the isolated Bundibugyo district, beyond the Ruwenzori Mountains on the floor of the Semuliki section of the Albertan rift valley. This largely forested park represents the eastern most limit of the great ituri forest of the Congo basin and contains numerous species. Classified as moist semi – deciduous forest, it contains 336 tree species, 53 species of mammals, all the primates are there including de – Brazza’s monkey and Dent’s Mona Monkey being present. Your guide will brief you and give guided nature walk where you will encounter the forest species. You will also see the Hot springs set in lush swampy clearing. This is dominated by a boiling geyser (1030c) which spurts up to 2m high from a white, iced cake like base of precipitated mineral. Water also bubbles in small pools, steaming in which eggs can be boiled. You will be further guided to the more distant miner springs, reached by a 30 minutes trial that leads through beautiful palm forest before crossing the swamp on a walk board. This hot spring is a broad, steaming pool about 10 – 15 m across. Upon return to the main Sempaya – Ntandi Road; you encounter one into the loveliest tracts of forest with clear views into the forest canopy to spot birds and Monkeys. The pretty Mungiro Falls lies in the North Ruwenzori forest reserve, just off the Bundibugyo road 500m beyond the park office. After lunch and having relaxed a bit, why not visit the pygmy communities for cultural dances. After this, we go back to fort portal and proceed to the Hotel / Lodge for dinner and overnight. | | Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park | | After breakfast, our guide will drive you to Kibale National Park for the Chimpanzee and primates trekking in the forest. You will report to Kanyanchu tourist centre for ranger briefing. The primate walk starts from Kanyanchu river camp at 8:00 am or 3:00 pm. It lasts for 2 – 4 hours and it is the most popular walk, highlighting the diversity of different animals and plant species within the forest. This walk is restricted to three groups of six persons each in the morning and the same number in the afternoon. You will definitely see our closest living relatives, the endangered chimpanzee as well as the threatened red Colobus monkey, and the rare L’Hoeste monkey. In the afternoon, visit Bigodi village for either the famous swamp walk where you will see diversity of bird life species including the blue Turaco and primates at very close range, or take village – community walk appreciate and get acquainted with cultural norms: the African medicine man healing, cultural history on marriage and settlement in the area, land tenure and traditional agricultural practices, metal works and iron smith. Certainly these walk are experience rewarding and fantastic as well. In the evening drive back to the lodge at leisure, overnight at luxurious Primates’ Lodge / Midrange Ruwenzori View or Budget Nyiribulitwa Tented Camp. | | Day 4: Kampala - Entebbe | | After breakfast return to Kampala at leisure. Lunch en route and arrive in Kampala early after noon.
